What Is a Charity Spokesperson?

As a Charity Spokesperson, you’ll represent Maidstone Homeless Care at events, in the media, online, and in the community. You don’t need to be a professional speaker - just someone who’s passionate, reliable, and ready to speak up.

You might:

  • Share our work with local schools, businesses, or community groups

  • Speak to the media or give quotes for press releases

  • Represent the charity at events and cheque presentations

  • Tell your personal story (if you’ve been supported by the charity)

  • Help create blog posts, videos, or social media content

🎙️ Who Can Become a Spokesperson?

We welcome:

  • Volunteers and supporters who want to help raise awareness

  • Former or current service users with lived experience

  • Local professionals or students who care about homelessness

  • People comfortable speaking publicly or on camera - with or without prior experience

You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be real.

📚 Training and Support We Provide

You’ll receive:

  • A welcome session

  • Background information about our work

  • Opportunities to shadow experienced team members

  • Ongoing support from our team
