Maidstone Homeless Care Food Bank

Our thanks to the supermarkets, churches, schools and individuals who have already donated to us, we understand the demand on your generosity and we are so grateful to you all.

How Can I Get Emergency Food Relief?

Homeless Care believes that nobody should go hungry and are here to help anybody in Maidstone.

We can provide urgent food support daily if you can’t wait for your next benefit payment or payslip.

Call 01622 674064 or email foodparcels@homelesscare.org.uk for food parcel requests.

We ask that you are referred to us by a professional support service (Council, GP, substance misuse team, etc). If you are not working with a support service, you can contact the Citizens Advice Maidstone and explain your situation, they will then advise you of ways to try to improve your situation (longer term) and can make the referral to us on your behalf.

We will confirm your referral and will try and accommodate your preferred collection time.

Support the Food Bank

Donations from supermarkets, local businesses, churches and individuals are a very important source of food for the charity.

They are used to make essential carry out packs for homeless people and to prepare meals at the Day Centre. In addition, they are used to supply food parcels for households at an imminent risk of homelessness.

Although food donations from groups and individuals are greatly appreciated, monetary donations are even more useful. This enables us to supplement the donated non-perishable food with some perishable foods like cheese, eggs, meat and other more expensive items that people need to buy.

We can buy this food from FareShare at a far lower cost than is available to the general public

Each £1 you donate means more food and essentials for clients. Most donations come in the form of non-perishable food so monetary donations allow the charity to purchase fresh food.

Donate Food

Anyone wishing to donate to the food bank can drop off a donation at the Day Centre during our opening hours.

Alternatively, when doing your shopping, food can be bought and dropped into the donation bins located at:

· Sainsbury’s Aylesfod

· Sainsbury Maidstone Town Centre

· Sainsburys Loose Road

· Morrisons Larkfield

· Morrison Sutton Road

· Waitrose Allington
